Robert “Buzz” Law, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, is a founder and president of Creative Financial Group. He counsels affluent individuals and their families on comprehensive financial, estate, investment and tax planning matters. He began his investment career in 1982 and established CFG in 1988.

CFG became a subsidiary of Synovus Financial Services Corp. (SFC) in 2001. In January of 2011, CFG became a division of Synovus Securities, Inc., itself a subsidiary of SFC.

In May 2011, Buzz was appointed by Dr. John D. Barge, Georgia State Supt. of Schools, as Vice Chair of the Georgia Foundation for Public Education.

In 2007, Buzz was named by Gov. Sonny Perdue to the Georgia Board of Education, where he served until March 2011. He was also named to the Georgia Board of Corrections as the 6^th Congressional District Representative.

Buzz was accepted into the elite Atlanta Estate Planning Council and is certified by the prestigious Christian Financial Professionals Network, where he is a Charter member. In 2004, Robb Report Worth magazine named Buzz “one of the Nation’s 100 most exclusive Wealth Advisors.” He has been recognized numerous times by Worth magazine and was named by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for his inclusion in “Who’s Who in Banking and Finance” in 2005 and 2006. He has been quoted by numerous financial publications including MONEY, Bloomberg Wealth Manager, Mutual Fund magazine, Atlanta Business Chronicle and Financial Planning. Buzz was appointed by Medical Economics as one of the Top 150 Financial Planners for doctors in 2006 and has been recognized in Medical Economics over several years.

An authority in executive financial planning, Buzz leads pre-retirement workshops for some of America’s largest corporations. Creative Financial is an approved provider of Executive Financial Planning services for several of these companies.

Buzz serves or has served on the University of Georgia Alumni Board of Directors and the Advisory Board for the DeKalb County School System’s Academy of Finance. He is involved with the United Way Resource Development Committee, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Advisory Committee, is a long-term member of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody with nine years of perfect attendance, the International Association of Financial Planners and is active in the Big Canoe Chapel. He was head coach of the 12-13 year-old Alpharetta Youth Football Association, who were runners-up Champions in 2005 and Champions in 2006.

Buzz was born in Atlanta and attended Woodward Academy. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned a BBA with a major in Finance and minor in Real Estate. Buzz is a lifelong member of the ATΩ Fraternity.

Buzz and his wife Cathy live in Alpharetta; they have four children, Robert, Elliott, Austin and Ansley. Also in their family are two dogs, two cats, a bird and horse.
